The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday re-elected Dr. Isaacs Kekemeke as its South-West Zonal Chairman.
He and his team emerged through a consensus arrangement at the APC South-West Zonal Congress held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium) in Lagos.
Chairman of the Congress Committee, Mr. Jide Jimoh, disclosed that 1,398 delegates drawn from Lagos, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Ekiti states participated in the exercise.
Following the presentation of the consensus list, the candidates were affirmed through voice votes.
Other officials elected unopposed include Alfred Aluko (Secretary), Ismail Majaro (Legal Adviser), Lateef Ibirogba (Organising Secretary), Ayobami Afolabi (Publicity Secretary), Mrs. Oyetunde Adesanya (Woman Leader), Mr. Daramola Adesuyi (Youth Leader), and Mr. Dayo Ishola (Persons With Disability Leader).
Speaking on behalf of South-West governors, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, congratulated the newly elected executives, urging them to sustain unity and strengthen the party’s dominance in the region.
In his acceptance speech, Kekemeke described the congress as historic and significant, noting that the South-West remains the political base of the President. He expressed gratitude to party leaders for the confidence reposed in his team.
“We will do much better than we have done in the last four years. Our duty is to deliver overwhelming support for our President in 2027,” he said.
He also assured that the party would secure victories in the forthcoming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
Also speaking, APC National Secretary, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, represented by the National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, commended the successful conduct of the congress and charged the new executives to work in unity to deliver the region for the party.
“The journey to 2027 begins now, and we must remain focused and united,” he added.
