APC Presidential Campaign Council appoints Sola Iji Secretary, Labour Committee

The Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressive Congress, APC., has appointed an ex-envoy and a former senatorial aspirant in Ondo State, Ambassador Sola Iji, as the secretary of its Labour Committee.

The Radiance gathered that this was conveyed in a letter addressed to Iji, and signed by the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Iji, a close ally of Tinubu, the Araba of Apoi and Igbobini Land in the oil-rich Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the South Senatorial District of Ondo State, Alliance for Democracy candidate into Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency, and a former APC governorship aspirant in the state, is the South West Coordinator of the Asiwaju Tinubu/Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, ATSCGG.; Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Togo; ex-Ondo State chairman successively of the defunct AD, AC, and Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, which fused into APC; former chairman, Kwara State ACN caretaker committee; and a Barrister-at-law, having his Masters of Law in view.

He holds Masters of Science degree (M.SC) in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management; Masters of Business and Public Administration (MBPA); B. A English; and IPR course certificate in Public Relations.

The former Envoy, who has held various sensitive political and administrative offices in and outside Nigeria, is a member each of Nigeria Industrial Relations Association; University of Lagos Alumni Association; Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria; and Nigeria Bar Association; Associate Member Nigerian Institute of Management; and that of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Uk and Nigeria.

Iji, served as Director, Mass Organisation of Hope 93 MKO Abiola for President; Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of Social Democratic Party (SDP); Assistant Secretary NLC/TUC, Secretary National Steering Committee of the defunct Nigeria Labour Party; Member, swearing-in subcommittee of the 2015 APC Presidential Inauguration Committee; and Executive secretary, Food Beverages and Tobacco senior staff association, among others.
