The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what it described as impactful and people-centred leadership in 2025.
It expressing confidence that the state will record accelerated development in the New Year.
In a New Year message signed by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity in the state, Mr. Steve Otaloro, and released to journalists on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Aiyedatiwa had, “within a remarkably short period, redefined governance in Ondo State by translating vision into visible and measurable results.”
Otaloro stated that the administration has deliberately moved development from rhetoric to reality, reshaping both the physical outlook of major towns and the collective optimism of residents across the state.
He noted that across Akure and other parts of Ondo State, long-neglected road networks have given way to modern and durable infrastructure, with old roundabouts and inefficient intersections being replaced by well-engineered junctions.
He added that strategic asphalt overlays on key roads have improved safety, mobility and economic activities.
Otaloro particularly highlighted the transformation of the state capital’s night-time environment, saying that major roads and redesigned junctions are now fully illuminated, functional traffic lights regulate key intersections, and modern road furniture has brought order and coherence to the cityscape.
He said the improved lighting and traffic management have enhanced night driving, boosted safety and injected a refreshing sense of modernity into Akure, describing the development as a clear reflection of purposeful governance.
Beyond infrastructure, the APC spokesperson said the Aiyedatiwa administration has demonstrated prudence and technical discipline by prioritising durability, value for money and long-term planning in project execution, an approach he said has rebuilt public confidence in government.
He added that the achievements of the Ondo State government align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which, according to him, has been effectively localised to address the specific needs of the state.
Otaloro also acknowledged the human-centred policies of the administration, citing the extension of the Yuletide holiday for workers until January 5 as a thoughtful gesture that underscores the governor’s belief in balancing productivity with compassion.
Looking ahead to 2026, the APC spokesman expressed confidence that the pace of development would be sustained and accelerated, noting that the coming year holds deep symbolic significance as Ondo State prepares to mark its 50th anniversary in February, coinciding with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s first year in office as an elected governor.
He described the convergence as a moment of renewal and renewed ambition, saying the governor is well-positioned to steer the state into its next phase of growth and stability.
Reassuring residents of a secure future, Otaloro said Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership reflects calm strength, compassion and clarity of purpose, adding that better days are not merely promised but already unfolding.
He called on the people of Ondo State to continue to support the governor and the APC-led administration in the collective pursuit of a more prosperous, orderly and compassionate Sunshine State in 2026 and beyond.
