All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives candidate for Akoko North East/North West Federal constituency of Ondo State, Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, has defeated the incumbent lawmaker and candidate of Action Alliance, AA, Hon Stephen Olemija and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Wale Ogunleye.
He polled APC 20,988 votes, while his PDP closest rival polled 12,967 votes, and the AA which fielded the incumbent lawmaker, came a distant third with 10,979 votes.
Having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, Tunji-Ojo was declared the winner and returned elected.
Also, another AA candidate for Akoko Southeast/Southeast federal constituency, Dr Victor Ategbole also lost to the APC candidate, Mr Ade Adeogun in a keenly contested election.
