Amotekun Corps operatives in Osun State have arrested five men for different offenses of the alleged stealing of a motorcycle, vehicle, and vehicle engine.
The suspects were arrested at different locations in the state.
According to information, the suspects specialized in motorcycle, vehicle, and engine theft.
They were nabbed at different locations during a routine patrol and surveillance and intelligence gathering by the corps.
Two of the suspects, aged 18 and 19, were arrested for motorcycle theft in Apomu in Isokan Local Government of the State
They were alleged of stealing a neighbor’s Bajaj motorcycle which they reportedly sold to one Bokoto at Ogunpa in Ibadan, Oyo State for the sum of #15,000 after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Isokan office.
Also, two other suspects, aged 45 and 51, were arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle engine in Osogbo on Monday night before nemesis caught up with them.
The fifth suspect was nabbed for allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle in Ikirun, in Ifelodun local government of the State.
Confirming the arrest to reporters in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state by the operatives after a complaint was lodged at the Corps Isokan Command.
Two of the other suspects were arrested by the operatives on a night patrol for attempting to steal a vehicle engine in Osogbo and the fifth was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle in Ikirun.
“During interrogation, they confessed to committing the crime.
The suspects will be handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
