Oba Olu Ajibise

The Ogunsua of Modakeke Media team has debunked the allegations against the monarch, Oba Olu Ajibise, as baseless.
In a statement on Sunday by Chief Kola Olabisi on behalf of the committee’s chairman, it described as unfounded and malicious the series of allegations against the monarch “by one Mr. Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale, who has been parading himself under the false title of Oba Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale, the Oluoje of Ojenpetu.”
He had allegedly recently accused Oba Toriola along with some respected community leaders, of orchestrating a violent attack on his person and associates.
But the statement said, “We wish to state in the strongest terms that these claims are entirely false, baseless, and fabricated.
“The accusation of an attempted assassination and the destruction of property is a malicious narrative intended to smear the reputation of our peace-loving and law-abiding monarch.
“Mr. Obawale, who reportedly relocated from a displaced community in Gadumo, Kogi State, is deliberately peddling falsehoods in a desperate attempt to gain attention and legitimacy. His claims should be dismissed as a poorly orchestrated attempt to discredit the integrity of our revered traditional institution.
“Our monarch, Oba Joseph Olu Toriola, is a man of impeccable character, deeply knowledgeable in traditional leadership, and respectful of the rule of law. He is well aware that no individual, regardless of status, has the right to take the law into their own hands — and he has never done so.
“While the allegations are laughable, we are compelled to respond because silence in the face of persistent falsehoods can lead the uninformed to mistake fiction for fact.”
The statement said it is the responsibility of law enforcement agencies not traditional rulers to maintain law and order.
It said, “Therefore, we are puzzled as to why Mr. Obawale is blaming the Ogunsua and other community members for his troubles with security agencies.
“The self-acclaimed “Oluoje of Ojenpetu” would do well to understand that he cannot be used as a pawn in any grand scheme to malign our monarch or destabilize our community. His ill-conceived mission to import conflict into Modakeke has failed and will continue to fail.
Of particular concern is Mr. Obawale’s ridiculous claim that our monarch discriminates against Fulani people. This is a lie from the pit of hell. The Modakeke community has always been a welcoming home to all Nigerians, regardless of ethnicity or background. What we will not tolerate, however, is the harboring of criminal elements or enemies of peace.
“Anyone who imagines that His Royal Majesty would stand by and watch while Modakeke is turned into a safe haven for bandits, cattle rustlers, kidnappers, and other criminal elements is gravely mistaken. Our monarch and community leaders remain fully committed to upholding peace and security, in alignment with the efforts of local, state, and federal governments.
“We call on the Inspector General of Police, the Director-General of the DSS, and the National Security Adviser to pay attention to this unfolding matter. Meanwhile, our Kabiyesi has instructed his legal team to take appropriate action against Mr. Obawale, whose sole mission appears to be the defamation of a respected royal father.
“Let it be known: the name and honor of the Ogunsua of Modakeke shall not be dragged in the mud by individuals driven by envy, mischief, and false entitlement.”
