Akure Diocesan Clergy Fellowship absolves Bishop Borokini, wife of alleged corruption

The Akure Diocesan Clergy Fellowship Anglican Communion Church Of Nigeria, has absolved Bishop Simeon Oluwole Borokini and wife, Christianah, of alleged corruption.

It cleared the couple of the allegation in a letter to the Primate, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion in Abuja.

According to the letter, titled “RE: SCANDAL IN AKURE DIOCESE’, “Our attention has been drawn to an online publication alleging scandal in the Diocese of Akure premised on alleged sale of land and mismanagement of Diocesan fund by the Bishop, The Most Revd Simeon Oluwole Borokini. PhD, and his wife, Princess Christianah Adetunmbi Borokini.

“We have patiently read the publication and come to the irreversible conclusion that the contents are nothing but fabricated falsehood by persons who want to inordinately tarnish the image of the retiring bishop and his family and by extension bring the Diocese to a ridicule.

“We are bold to say that the individuals do not represent the interest of the Cathedral and the Diocese.

“The Bishop is prudent in the management of the finances and assets of the Diocese and there is no known case of financial impropriety either by the Bishop or his wife.

“We stand by the Bishop and pass a vote of confidence on his administration.”
