The picture of the recuperating Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu taken with his wife, Betty, went viral on Friday.
Also, a video in which the governor appears for the first time in a while has similarly been circulated widely on the internet.
These happened as the government and the people of the state, the ruling APC, and many well-wishers celebrate the 67th birthday of the Governor.
Akeredolu who was born in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the state, clocked 67 on Friday, July 21.
The First Lady posted on her Facebook wall the joint picture of herself and the governor almost uniformly dressed in a room with the caption “Aketi dey kampe! Victory for us!
In the picture, the governor, wearing a pair of sunglasses, and pumping the air with his clenched right hand fist, is dressed in a pair of white pyjamas with a pair of ash-colour footwears to match. He sits on a chair in a room.
His smiling wife who is also similarly dressed in a pair of white pyjamas, with a cap and a pair of striped slip-on footwears to match, wears a pair of sunglasses too.
She sits on the left arm on which her husband sits and thrusts forward two of her left hand’s fingers forming the letter ‘V’ indicating victory.
Also in the video which was shared by the lawmaker representing Owo Constituency, in the state’s House of Assembly, Hon Emmanuel Ogumolasuyi, the governor who sits on a chair is also dressed in a pair of white pyjamas.
Speaking in Owo dialect of the Yoruba language, the lawmaker, is seen wishing the governor a ‘happy birthday’ and conveying to him the Goodwill messages of the people of the state, the Olowo of Owo and subjects as well as the state’s 9th and 10th assemblies.
Ogunmolasuyi also prays for Akeredolu, wishing him a quick recovery and many happy returns of the day.
In line with the constitutional provisions, Akeredolu is officially on a medical leave after he had transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
