Akeredolu’s National Honour well deserved – Iji

Ex-envoy and Secretary of the Labour Committee of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ambassador Sola Iji, has congratulated Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON, conferred on him by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Akeredolu was among 447 eminent Nigerians, who were conferred with various National Honours on Tuesday in Abuja by the President. Altogether, 450 Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their various callings, received this year’s national awards.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesman, Onibudo ‘Wole Iroaye, Iji, who is also the South West Zonal Director General of the Asiwaju Tinubu/Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, ATSCCG., described the national honour bestowed on Akeredolu as well deserved in view of his superlative performance since 2017 when he mounted the saddle as Governor of the Sunshine State.

He said that apart from manning his duty post as Ondo State Governor in an exemplary manner, Akeredolu has also performed creditably as Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and also that of the South West Governors’ Forum.

He said that the passion with which Akeredolu approaches governance as a means of meaningfully touching the lives of the ordinary people who look unto Government full of Hope, through honestly delivering true dividends of democracy to the people, is commendable and worthy of emulation by true leaders.

Iji recalled that Akeredolu cleared six of the seven months huge salary arrears that he inherited from the previous Olusegun Mimiko administration; insulated the Civil Service from politics; embarked on massive and extensive Job creation through Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Industrialisation; Massive Infrastructural Development and Maintenance; Promotion of Functional Education and Technological Growth; Provision of Accessible and Qualitative Health Care
And Social Service Delivery; Rural Development and Community Extension Services.

The former envoy also noted the novel redemptive development programmes of
Rural and Agricultural Development;
Educational Advancement and Human Capital Development; Development through Massive Infrastructure; Efficient Service Delivery, Development and Policy
Implementation; Effective Healthcare and Social Welfare Services; Maintenance of Law and Order for Adequate Security; Energy, Mining and Sustainable Industries; and Digital Revolution and Entrepreneurship, christened REDEEMED, being executed by the Akeredolu administration to turn around the fortunes of Ondo State.

Iji thanked the President for recognising Akeredolu for the National Honour, which he believed, would encourage the Governor further in providing exemplary leadership to his people, and by extension, the people of Nigeria.
