Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Monday sacked three commissioners as he moves to rejig his cabinet for optimum performance by his administration.
Simultaneously, he named five new Commissioner – nominees and two Special Adviser – nominees.
These were contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Segun Ajiboye, which directed the sacked commissioners to handover all government’s property in their possession to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries.
According to the statement, the Governor announced the decisions after Monday’s meeting of the State Executive Council meeting at the Exco Chamber of his Office, in Akure.
The sacked commissioners include those of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Solagbade Amodeni; Works and Infrastructure, Rt. Hon Taofiq Abdusalam, and Culture, Alhaji Ismaila Olurimisi.
The new Commissioner- nominees are: Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju; Mrs Titilayo Adeyemi; Mr Temitayo Oluwatuyi; Hon. Fatai Olotu; and Akindotun Olubunmi Owanikin Esq.
The two nominees as Special Advisers are: Hon Babatunde Kolawole and Hon Oyebo Aladetan.
Names of the seven nominees would be sent to the state’s House of Assembly for confirmation.
It said the Governor thanked the sacked commissioners for their service to the people of Ondo State and wished them well in their future endeavours. On the other hand, he reportedly wished the seven new appointees well in their offices.
The statement said that Akeredolu promised that the people would “continue to be at the centre of the policies of his administration, while he continues to deliver the dividends of good governance to the people of the state.”
