Akeredolu sacks Attorney General, replaces with Charles Titiloye

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Monday fired the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kola Olawoye Esq.

He replaced him immediatrly with a front line human rights activist lawyer, Sir Charles Titiloye.

He gave no reason for his actions.

These were contained in a syatement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Segun Ajiboye, who said: “Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has rejigged his cabinet.”

According to the statement: “Following this, he has appointed front line human rights lawyer, Sir Charles Titiloye, as his new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.”

It added: “Titiloye is a human right activist and a renowned social critic. He was former Secretary of the Nigerian Bar of Association (NBA), Akure Branch. His name will be forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.”

The statement said the nominee’s name would be forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.

“Mr Governor thanks the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kola Olawoye, SAN, that has just been removed for services rendered to the state,” the statement said.

“He wishes him success in his future endeavours.”
