Akeredolu assigns portfolios to new commissioners, special advisers

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has assigned portfolios to commissioners and special advisers who were sworn in on Monday.

He announced the portfolios during the state executive council meeting held on Wednesday in Akure, the state capital.

The commissioners and their ministries are:

  • Adefarati Adegboyega Adeyemi – Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs;
  • Ademola-Olateju Bamidele – Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations;
  • Adeyanju Yetunde – Water and Sanitation;
  • Agagu Sunday Olufemi – Education;
  • Ajaka Banji Awolowo – Health;
  • Akinlosotu Adewale – Culture and Tourism.
  • Akinwalire Adekunle Sunday – Environment;
  • Aribo Olayato – Agric and Forestry;
  • Fagbemi Omolola Juliana – Commerce, Industries and Cooperatives;
  • Igbasan Emmanuel Duyile – Budget and Economic Planning;
  • Obe Rasaq Ayodele – Energy, Mines And Mineral Resources;
  • Ologun Bamidele – Youths and Sports;
  • Rt. Hon (Barr.) Alhaji Olotu-Aburumaku Abdulfatai – Physical Planning and Urban Development and
  • Osadahun Juliana Adebunmi – Women Affairs and Social Development.

The Special Advisers are:

  • Dare Aragbaiye – Union Matters and Special Duties;
  • Hon. Babatunde Kolawole – Rural Development;
  • Adeyeye Jibayo John – Political and Legislative Matters;
  • Ategbole Olusegun – Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations;
  • Prof. Faduyile Francis – Health;
  • Falana Olamide Juliana – Gender;
  • Ilawole Olawunmi Juliet – Education;
  • Ogunleye Tobi Felix – Transport;
  • Oseni Oyeniyi – Environment;
  • Sunmi Smart-Francis – Entrepreneurship; and
  • Bunmi Ademosun – Intergovernmental Relations.

Also, Babajide Akeredolu  was named Director-General, Project Pricing Implementation and Monitoring Unit.

Akeredolu had charged the new cabinet members to show leadership in whatever positions they find themselves and shun acts which stand at variance with the expectations of the people.

With this development, the state cabinet  now has 18 commissioners, 11 special advisers and a Director General. Before swearing in 14 commissioners on Monday, there were four commissioners including Donald Ojogo for Information and Orientation; Wale Akinterinwa, Finance; Charles Titiloye, Attorney General and commissioner for Justice; and Raimi Aminu, Infrastructure, Lands and Housing.
