A prominent politician in Akoko South West Local Government , Hon. David Ajobiewe, has formally declared his intention to contest the Akoko South West Constituency I, Oka Akoko seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly under the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming election.
A statement by his media team said the declaration took place at the APC State Secretariat in Akure, “where Hon. Ajobiewe was warmly received by the State Party Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, alongside party leaders and a large number of supporters who accompanied him from across the wards in Oka Akoko.”
According to the statement, “In his address, Ajobiewe emphasized the need for fairness and inclusiveness in the distribution of political opportunities across the wards.
“He highlighted that Ward 2 has produced a representative once, Ward 4 three times, Ward 5 once, Ward 6 twice, and Ward 7 twice, while Ward 3 — his ward —has never had the opportunity to produce a member of the House of Assembly.
“He therefore appealed to party leaders to uphold internal democracy by giving Ward 3 a chance in the forthcoming election.
“Speaking further, Hon. Ajobiewe outlined his consistent contributions to community development and party growth.
“He cited several impactful initiatives, including his annual widows empowerment program, support for local farmers to boost agricultural productivity, and sustained interventions in the health sector.
“He also referenced his large-scale medical outreach programs, with the most recent edition dedicated to His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
‘Additionally, he noted his efforts in distributing food items to vulnerable households and rehabilitating damaged boreholes across the constituency to improve access to clean water.
In his remarks, the State Party Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, commended Hon. Ajobiewe for his dedication and visible contributions to both the party and the community. He acknowledged being fully aware of his efforts and encouraged him to remain steadfast.
*The Chairman also addressed the large crowd of supporters present, urging them to continue their loyalty and support for the APC and the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.”
