The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, Ondo State had commended what it called the outstanding leadership and visionary governance style of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
It said in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Steve Otaloro that his administration “has brought about sweeping political and administrative reforms that have repositioned the state for inclusive growth and sustainable development.”
According to the statement, “Since assuming office, Governor Aiyedatiwa has displayed exceptional humility, focus, and fairness in steering the affairs of the state.
“His leadership has broken the old barriers of political exclusivity and opened new channels of opportunity for a broader segment of Ondo citizens to participate in governance.
“Through deliberate policy direction and an inclusive approach, the Governor has created a leadership environment where competence, character, and capacity take precedence over political connections or affiliations.
“The composition of his cabinet is a clear reflection of this philosophy. It includes young and dynamic individuals, technocrats, accomplished academics, and experienced politicians who have all been given the opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
“This new governance model has effectively reduced political patronage and godfatherism, which in the past distracted public officers from their primary duty of service to the people.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has redirected the energy of public service toward measurable productivity and state building. The results of this leadership transformation are evident across various sectors:
“Major infrastructural projects such as the rehabilitation and dualisation of Akure–Idanre, Akungba–Ikare, and Okitipupa–Igbokoda roads; Revitalisation of the healthcare system with upgraded facilities and expanded health insurance coverage; Recruitment of over 2,000 qualified teachers to strengthen the education sector; Implementation of extensive agricultural programmes covering more than 26,000 hectares of farmland to promote food security; and Enhancement of state security through the provision of 75 new patrol vehicles to support law enforcement agencies.
“These reforms have not only improved the quality of governance but have also made the All Progressives Congress (APC) the most dominant political force in Ondo State. As opposition members continue to defect to the APC in large numbers, collapsing entire ward and local government structures into the ruling party a testament to the people’s confidence in the Governor’s purposeful leadership and the party’s progressive ideology.
“The APC in Ondo State affirms that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s rise to leadership without the backing of a political godfather or a premeditated ambition for power stands as a clear example of divine ordination. His emergence and subsequent performance reflect the eternal truth that “power belongs to God, who appoints whom He wills to lead.”
“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration continues to embody fairness, inclusiveness, and accountability. He has given every citizen regardless of background or political history the opportunity to serve the state, thereby restoring faith in public institutions and ensuring that governance serves the collective good.
