Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Monday campaigned for the re-election of his Ekiti State counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji, in that state’s forthcoming gobernorship election.

He was at a rally held at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, where leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered to show support for Oyebanji.

Aiyedatiwa said he threw his full weight behind the Ekiti Governor for a second term in office, according to a statement by his spokesman, Ebenezer Adeniyan.

Also, he reaffirmed his backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term in office, saying the project for the continuation of the Renewed Hope agenda administration beyond 2027 has begun in the South West.

He described Oyebanji, fondly called BAO, as a visionary leader whose impactful projects and policies are evident across Ekiti state.

Aiyedatiwa noted that Ekiti people are fortunate to have such a committed governor, and urged them to give him another term to consolidate on his achievements.

His words, “Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental strides across the state are visible and commendable. He deserves a second term”.

Also, he charged party members and stakeholders to work tirelessly to ensure a landslide victory for the APC across all the 16 local government areas in Ekiti state, drawing a comparison with the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, where the APC won all the 18 local councils.

On the presidential front, Aiyedatiwa disclosed that all 23 APC-controlled states across the country have thrown their weight behind President Tinubu for a second term in office, reaffirming the party’s unity and confidence in his leadership.

Addressing the crowd, Oyebanji expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for their support, describing the moment as historic.

He said the unity currently being witnessed within the APC in Ekiti is a testament to the collective will to move the state forward.

Oyebanji also urged the citizens to take advantage of the forthcoming voter registration exercise, assuring them that the state government would work closely with relevant authorities to ensure the exercise is smooth and accessible for all eligible voters.

Political leaders in Ondo State who attended the rally included former Senator, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde (Abena), Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Seun Osamaye and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Smart Omodunbi.
