Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has appointed Mr. Kayode Fasua as the new Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief of Owena Press Limited, publishers of the state-owned newspaper The Hope.

The Governor’s spokesman, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said in a statement on Thursday that the appointment takes immediate effect.

Adeniyan said his principal urged Fasua to deploy his vast knowledge and experience to revamp the media outfit for optimum performance.

He added that Aiyedatiwa “thanked the outgoing Managing Director, Sir Ademola Adetula, for his service and efforts towards the growth of the company.”

Fasua, a 53-year-old journalist with 29 years of experience, began his journalism career in the same newspaper, The Hope in Akure as a Reporter in 1996. He has also worked with other national media organisations including The Punch, National Mirror, National Life, The Sun, and Tell Magazine.

He was a Special Assistant on Media to the departed Governor Adebayo Adefarati between 2002 and 2003.

Fasua will take over from celebrated veteran journalist, Sir Ademola Adetula, whose tenure since 2018 witnessed a remarkable improvement in the physical infrastructure, particularly the Fasoranti Road, Ijapo Akure premises of the media company, which has been given a facelift starting from the gate, and cutting through all the offices.
