The Pan-Yoruba sociopolitical organisation Afenifere has condoled the family of the departed Secretary to the Ondo State Government, SSG, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the State Government, and people of the state over his passage.
Popularly called Tukana, Oluwatayo died last Saturday at an hospital where he was receiving treatment for the injury he sustained in a road accident in which he was involved last month.
His death has thrown the whole state into a deep mourning.
In a heartfelt condolence message signed on Tuesday by its spokesman in Ondo State, Eric Oluwole, Afenifere under the state leadership of Hon Korede Duyile described Oluwatuyi as “a well dedicated public servant whose significant contributions to the advancement and development of Ondo State will leave a lasting legacy.”
It said: “Afenifere Ondo State chapter has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Tukana), the late Secretary to the Ondo State Government, who lost his life in a fatal auto accident. We received the news of his demise with great shock and sorrow.
On behalf of the leadership and entire membership of Afenifere Ondo State chapter, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the state government, family, friends, and loved ones of the late SSG.”
According to the statement: “His appointment as SSG by the Governor of Ondo State was a testament to his leadership skills and commitment to the development of the state.
“During his tenure, he worked tirelessly to promote the welfare of the people of Ondo State, and his contributions to the state’s growth and progress will never be forgotten.
“His death is a great loss to the government, his family, and friends who will miss his legacy. We pray that God will grant the Ondo State Government and his family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“While extending our condolences to the family of the deceased SSG, as well as to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the good citizens of Ondo State, Afenifere prays for divine comfort for the bereaved family and encourages the Ondo State citizens to continue to honour the departed SSG’s values of service and dedication to the state.
“Once again, we want to commiserate with the state government and people of Ondo State.
“May God comfort the family during this difficult times.”
