Ondo State

In preparation for the Yuletide festivities, Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government in Ondo State, Omoba Abayomi Adesanya, has started repairs of major roads across the council.

This was contained in a statement by his Press Secretary, Mr Martins Fasusi.

It said: “Yuletide period is synonymous with high vehicular traffic on our roads.

In view of this demand, the Chairman Okitipupa Local Government Area, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya has commenced total rehabilitation of failed portion across major roads in the local government area.

The council boss had recently launched “Operation Zero-Pothole”  across the Local Government, but the program could not take off due to prolonged season of unabated rainfalls.

The first phase of the exercise has commenced and will cover Okitipupa – Ikoya – Ilutitun – Igbotako – Akinfosile road, while the second phase will cover Okitipupa – Ode Aye – Ore road until all major roads within the council area are touched.

“Quoting Adesanya, the statement said: “This is to facilitate ease of movement of travelers as many sons and daughters of the Local Government both at home and in the diaspora would be using the roads during the Yuletide.

We want to ensure that motorists and commuters travel with minimal discomfort.

We believe this will minimise cases of road crashes on our roads during the forthcoming season.”

He therefore appealed to motorists and commuters to drive with caution by observing all traffic rules and signs especially speed limit.
