Adeleke promises Osun people all-round health care delivery

Osun State

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has said that his administration prioritizes the health of Osun State people, promising that he will continue to do everything to ensure they enjoy an all-round health-care delivery.

The Governor stated this yesterday at the State Secretariat Complex, Abere, while hosting the management of Osun State University Teaching Hospital.

He said he is passionate about the health of his people, and this was why he approved the purchase of medical equipment to enhance sound health delivery for residents of the State.

Adeleke further appreciated the Doctors for the successful completion of the first Imole Medical Outreach across the 9 Constituencies of the State, adding that it is a continuous exercise.

He then declared that his door is always wide open for ideas that can help the progress of the State.

Speaking earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Prof. Peter Olaitan, who led the management team, said the courtesy visit was intended to thank the Governor for his kind gesture in acceding to their requests.

He appreciated him for approving allowances for them such as hazard allowance and others, noting that this was why they refused to embark on industrial action during the last strike embarked upon by medical doctors in the Country.

Olaitan equally eulogized the governor for the approval given them to employ more qualified personnel to fill the existing vacancies and for the smooth running of the hospital.

The Uniosun Teaching Hospital boss, however, appealed to the Governor to assist by giving them capital funds to run the hospital, saying the hospital is the peak of all medical centres in Osun.

In his own words, the Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Osun State Branch, Dr. Adetoye Adedapo congratulated Adeleke for his victory at the Apex Court during the last election petition litigation.

He appealed to the Governor to give them tax relief so as to attract health workers to the State, and to provide the Association with a befitting operational vehicle for easy movement.

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a letter of appreciation and souvenir to the Governor by the President of the Joint Health Sector Unions, (JOHESU), Mrs Akinwumi Rashidat.
