Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has mourned the death of Adesoji Omosebi, Publisher of SOJ Worldwide Online News and a prominent member of the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA).

In a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor described Omosebi’s passing as a monumental loss to the media industry in Osun State, noting that his contributions to the growth of online journalism in the state were both pioneering and impactful.

Adeleke praised the departed publisher for his commitment to strengthening the fourth estate of the realm, recalling his role as the pioneer Chairman of OOPA, where he championed professionalism and digital innovation within the media space.

He said, “Today, we mourn the demise of Adesoji Omosebi.

“His death is a huge loss to the media industry in Osun State. His contributions to the growth and development of the online media sector will never be forgotten.”

As part of ongoing efforts to support media practitioners in the state, the governor directed the Osun State Health Insurance Agency to explore the possibility of creating a health insurance programme specifically for journalists. He described journalists as essential partners in nation-building who deserve greater protection and welfare.

The governor prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, saying, “May God Almighty comfort his family and grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss. SOJ will be missed greatly.”
