Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday inaugurated the Osun State Security Trust Fund, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to making the state safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Osogbo, He described the initiative as “a strategic step towards ensuring sustainable security financing” in the state.
At the inauguration ceremony held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Osogbo, he said,
“From the first day we assumed office, we made it clear that the security and well-being of our people would remain top priority..
“This Fund will help us strengthen operational capacity, improve response time, and provide modern equipment and logistics for our security agencies.”
He noted that the Fund, established by law and backed by the State House of Assembly, is designed to provide a steady stream of resources to support security operations and enhance coordination among agencies.
He commended members of the newly inaugurated Security Trust Fund Board, describing their appointment as “a national call to service,” and urged them to uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability in managing public contributions.
“The people of Osun must see this Fund as a beacon of trust, not just in name but in practice,” he said.
Adeleke also rallied support from the private sector, development partners, and well-meaning citizens, stressing that “security is everyone’s business.”
Reiterating his government’s commitment to prudent financial management, he assured stakeholders that every contribution to the Fund would be judiciously used, with proper oversight and full transparency.
“Our goal is to make Osun the safest, most peaceful, and most business-friendly state in Nigeria,” he said confidently
