Adeleke lights up Irepodun communities in Ilesa with 500KVA transformer

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has commissioned a newly installed 500KVA transformer at Irepodun Community in Ilesa, bringing improved electricity supply to several previously underserved areas.

The transformer, which was officially commissioned on behalf of the Governor, will cater to communities within the Irepodun axis, including SENIK, Alafiatayo, Testing Ground, and Irepodun Barakat. Residents say the development has ended years of erratic power supply and marked a turning point for economic and social activities in the area.

Adeleke was represented at the event by th Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Ademola Adeyemo, who described the project as part of the administration’s deliberate strategy to strengthen rural electrification and stimulate local development.

I’m his speech at the ceremony, Hon. Adeyemo commended community leaders and residents for their cooperation throughout the installation process, noting that the success of the project reflected the importance of partnership between government and the people.

“This intervention is a clear demonstration of Governor Adeleke’s commitment to people-oriented governance. Access to electricity is critical to economic growth, security, education, and improved quality of life.

“This administration remains resolute in ensuring that no community is left behind,” the Commissioner said.

He further assured residents that the Adeleke-led administration would continue to invest in critical sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and community development, stressing that more electrification projects are underway across the state.

According to him, providing steady and reliable power supply to all parts of Osun State remains a top priority of the Governor, in line with his campaign promises and governance agenda focused on inclusiveness and sustainability.

Residents of the benefiting communities expressed gratitude to the Governor for fulfilling his promise, describing the installation as timely and impactful. Many noted that the improved power supply would boost small businesses, enhance security, and improve living standards.

Community leaders pledged continued support for the state government, expressing optimism that the project would usher in broader socio-economic development within the Irepodun axis and beyond.

The commissioning adds to a growing list of electrification projects executed by the Adeleke administration, underscoring its resolve to light up communities and accelerate development across Osun State.
