Adeleke Hails Elevation of Osun-Born Jurist, Justice Oyewole, to Supreme Court

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has congratulated renowned jurist, Hon. Justice Kayode Oyewole, on his recommendation for appointment to the Supreme Court of Nigeria by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

He described the elevation as a well-deserved recognition of excellence, integrity, and judicial competence.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, he noted that Justice Oyewole’s elevation is not only a source of pride for Osun State but also a significant boost to Nigeria’s judiciary, given the jurist’s long-standing reputation for fairness, diligence, and unwavering commitment to justice.

The Governor described Justice Oyewole as an embodiment of integrity, whose career on the bench has been marked by sound judgments and strict adherence to the rule of law.

He said, “I heartily congratulate Hon. Justice Joseph Olubunmi Kayode Oyewole on his appointment to the bench of the Supreme Court.

‘He is an embodiment of integrity, and his commitment to justice over the years has been exemplary.”

Adeleke added that the appointment reflects Justice Oyewole’s impressive judicial antecedents spanning over two decades, during which he has consistently dispensed justice with courage, professionalism, and impartiality.

“His elevation to Nigeria’s highest court is a proud moment for Osun State. On behalf of the government and the good people of the state, I celebrate this remarkable achievement. Given his track record of dispassionate and effective adjudication, I have no doubt that Justice Oyewole will excel in this new and elevated role,” the Governor stated.

He also prayed for divine wisdom and strength for the jurist as he assumes the sacred responsibility of interpreting the law at the apex court, urging him to continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and justice for which he is widely known.
