Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated his Oyo State counterpart, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on his 58th birthday, describing him as a “strong agent of development, innovation and transformation.”
In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday, he praised Makinde as a leader driven by public good, service, and welfare, noting that his life and political journey reflect divine grace and purpose
According to Adeleke, the Oyo governor stands out among contemporary leaders for his courage, intellectual depth, and principled approach to governance.
“I have met and worked with several leaders over the decades; however, my brother Seyi strikes me as a unique personality — a brilliant genius, a man of conviction and a leader ready to stand alone if necessary in defence of principles,” Adeleke said.
He credited Makinde’s leadership with positively reshaping Oyo State’s political and developmental landscape, adding that his innovative policies and programmes have delivered tangible benefits across the state.
Governor Adeleke further described Makinde as an accomplished administrator whose engineering background reflects in his ability to conceptualise and execute large-scale projects efficiently and in line with global best practices.
“His capacity to design and deliver people-centred projects is acknowledged by friends and foes alike.
The seeming ease with which he delivers mega projects speaks to the engineer at the helm of Oyo governance,” he noted.
The Osun governor said he shared a strong bond and common ideals with Makinde, including commitment to good governance, pro-masses politics, democratic values, and the consistent delivery of dividends of democracy.
While wishing him many more years in good health and service, Adeleke urged the celebrant not to relent in his dedication to the people and the democratic process.
He also highlighted the symbolic significance of Makinde sharing his birthday with Christmas Day, describing it as a call to Christ-like leadership and selfless service.
“My brother Seyi shares a birthday with our Lord Jesus Christ, which explains his commitment to compassion, service, and principled leadership.
On behalf of the government and people of Osun State, I wish him many more blessed years,” Adeleke said.
The message was signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
