Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Monday, flagged off the dualisation of Ila township road on Monday as part of his administration’s sweeping infrastructure agenda.
He said this landmark collaboration reaffirmed his commitment to delivering impactful projects across the state.
In his sppech at the flag-off ceremony in Ila-Orangun, he said the first phase of the project will cover a 3.5-kilometer stretch and will be delivered within ten months.
Describing the event as another demonstration of his administration’s resolve to open up the state through massive road infrastructure, despite what he termed “lingering uncertainties in the nation,.”, he said:
“I have vowed before God and the good people of Osun State that I will never be distracted from my promise to serve. Today’s flag-off is another fulfillment of that vow”.
Adeleke outlined his administration’s achievements in the road sector, disclosing that over 175 kilometres of roads have been reconstructed, rehabilitated, or renovated since he assumed office.
He also gave updates on ongoing major projects:
- Ilesa dualisation: 78 percent completed;
- Ile-Ife flyover: 75 percent completed;
- Oke-Fia flyover: over 95 percent completed;
- LAMECO flyover: 55 percent completed;
- Oke Gada bridge: fully completed; and
- 1.5-kilometre roads in all LGAs: nearing completion
In Ila specifically, he highlighted the completion of key roads including:
- the 2-kilometre Oba Jinsin/Ita Obajoko Road;
- Ogunlade Junction–Kamila Junction Road and Ajagunla Street; and
- the 1.8-kilometer Aregun Junction–Ogunlolu Road.
The governor further announced the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ila–Ora–Oke Ila Road, which has reached the Oke Ila junction.
He assured traditional rulers and residents of the affected communities, including the Orangun of Oke-Ila, the Akesin of Ora, and the Asaoni of Ora, that construction would resume shortly.
Adeleke reiterated that no project initiated by his administration would be abandoned, emphasizing that “we are determined, and we are pushing ahead with the mega projects.”
The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, party leaders, and members of the public who applauded the governor’s infrastructure push.
