Adeleke debunks APC’s N1 trillion allocations claim

Osun State

Osun State Government has debunkwd the claim by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Ademola Adeleke has collected and squandered one trillion naira in state allocations from 2022 to date.

A statement in Osogbo by his spokesman, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, said the opposition’s allegation was a “devilish fabrication, mischievous propaganda, and a failed attempt to discredit a brilliant and widely acclaimed administration.”

The statement said the APC’s claim reflects “a party that has run out of ideas and is battling a single-digit popularity rating ahead of another inevitable defeat in 2026.

“Governor Adeleke has not received anything near one trillion naira since 2022. Every kobo of Osun’s resources has been managed transparently and judiciously, focusing on the critical needs of the state—health, infrastructure, education, business financing, cooperative empowerment, sports development, agriculture, technology advancement, workers’ welfare, and pension management.”

Rasheed further outlined the visible achievements of the Adeleke administration including:

  • Over 322 kilometers of roads constructed or rehabilitated across the state .
  • renovation of 200 health centres
  • over 100 schools.dualisation projects in several towns
  • upgrading and rehabilitation of multiple waterworks
  • multibillion-naira grassroots development projects.,
  • construction of flyover bridges
  • procurement of new tractors,
  • renovation of Osogbo Stadium to a five-star standard.
  • “Only an anti-people party would deny the payment of half salaries owed to workers—salaries the APC failed to pay.
  • “Pensioners can testify to how this administration is clearing pension debts inherited from the previous government.
  • “Over 30,000 pensioners have also been enrolled in the State Health Insurance Scheme—an unprecedented policy that has now been adopted by the Federal Government.”
  • The Federal Debt Management Office (DMO) recently confirmed that Governor Adeleke has reduced Osun’s debt stock by 40 percent, without borrowing a single naira since assuming office.
  • “Out of selflessness, the Governor does not collect security votes. All security expenditures are processed transparently within the state’s approval system.”
  • Following the illegal seizure of local government funds under the APC, the Adeleke administration has shouldered the financial burden of the councils to prevent hardship for thousands of families dependent on LG salaries and operations.
  • The results of these investments are visible:
  • The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has repeatedly commended the Governor’s commitment to teachers’ welfare and training.
  • Osun State now ranks 7th in NECO performance, compared to 33rd under the APC.
  • The state’s infrastructure deficit, estimated at nearly 80% in 2022, has now been reduced by 40%.
  • At a recent Southwest assessment moderated by a Federal agency, Osun ranked first in access to primary healthcare.
  • “Pensioners, workers, farmers, artisans, and market operators are daily applauding the Governor’s performance. We do not expect the APC to acknowledge its failures, but it should at least allow Osun people to enjoy good governance and the ongoing delivery of democratic dividends.”
