Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured the state’s new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps [NSCDC], Dr Akintayo Adaralewa of his support in fight crime and criminality happening in the state.
Adeleke who spoke while receiving the new NSCDC commandant who who paid him courtesy visit in his office in Osogbo charged the command to fish out criminals from their hiding places .
He said his administration would continue to provide every necessary support to the command to improve security of lives and property in the state.
While expressing confidence in the ability of the new Commandant and the Corps at large, Adeleke enjoined the new NSCDC helmsman to work in synergy with other sister agencies, saying crime prevention is a joint effort of all security agencies.
The Governor who also commended the personnel of NSCDC for being well dressed always also lauded them for being professional while discharging their duties.
Earlier, the Commandant, Dr Adaralewa explained that the courtesy visit was mainly to familiarize himself with the governor and to seek the support of the government for him to succeed
He noted that Osun state is relatively peaceful, as it is one of the safest states in the country.
Adaralewa vowed to synergize with other security agencies to strengthen security architecture and place it in a better light.
He also promised to deal decisively with illegal miners, while promising to work assiduously in order to put an end to incessant farmers and herders’ crisis in the state.
NSCDC Boss also called on members of the public to support NSCDC in the fight against Criminal activities by providing necessary and useful information that could nip crimes in the bud.
