The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, has presented Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke with an Award of Excellence over the state’s infrastructural development.
NSE President, Engnr Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE presented the award to the governor at the Government House in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Friday.
Oguntala who led the NSE executives on a tour of the state marveled at the level of infrastructural development accomplished by the Adeleke administration.
Adeleke hosted the NSE executives led by their 34th president, Engr Oguntala at the Government House in Osogbo on Friday.
She commended the governor, especially on road construction.
The NSE president applauded the governor’s infrastructural development strides.
She said Adeleke had fulfilled his promise on his inception of office of launching a 100 billion naira infrastructural project to transform the state into physical city roads, Local Government roads, hospitals, schools, and flyovers.
Mrs Oguntala hinted that the vision and drive for progress by the Adeleke administration are commendable
Her words: “We are proud to witness the positive changes occurring across the State.
“We deeply value and appreciate your commitment.
“We also commend the numerous ongoing projects under your leadership, which are transforming the State, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of life for the people of Osun.”
In his response, the governor thanked the NSE for the award which he said would further inspire his administration to do more to serve his people better.
He said economic growth and development are best achieved when the infrastructure sector is well developed.
According to him, a good infrastructure drives economic development and good governance in any Democratic nation or state.
The Governor who described the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE as professional said he was delighted to host them in his state.
His words: “I am delighted to host this highly technical team of engineering leaders in Nigeria.
“Welcome to the state of the living spring. I am glad you have gone round. You have seen our delivery across the construction sites.
“What you saw in Osogbo is small. Construction is ongoing across the 30 local governments and area councils.
” In 2023, I announced an ambitious infrastructure plan across the sectors. Many doubted our capacity to implement the various projects.
“To the glory of God, we have proved critics wrong. We have shown that we have the will, the capacity, and the knowledge to achieve our goals.
“We are determined to take Osun to greater heights. We have demonstrated a strong passion for bridging the infrastructure gap in Osun state.
“I must also appreciate the award from the UK chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. I dedicate the award to the good people of Osun State.
“As we step out to check out the projects, I am convinced that you will return a positive verdict for us. We have a very strong technical team. They are your members. They are doing a great job.”
