The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, has thanked an American based Nigerian scholar, Prof Henry Fadamiro, for donating endowment fund, and facilitating international supports and linkages to the university.
In a letter signed by the Acting Registrar & Secretary to Council, Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, AAUA noted the efforts of the Professor of Sustainable Agriculture to help in transforming AAUA to an institution comparable to the best universities across the globe.
Specifically, it said that Fadamiro recently linked the university with De Paul University, Chicago, United States, to provide support to it in the area of Information and Communication Technology, ICT; and facilitated the visit by a team from Auburn University and De Paul University to the institution earlier this month.
Fadamiro is an Associate Dean for Research, College of Agriculture, and Associate Director, Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station at Auburn University, Alabama, USA.
He is also the Co-Chairman of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA Alumni in Diaspora Association.
According to the letter: “The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) Ondo State at its 68th Regular Meeting held on Friday, May 24, 2019, was informed that you donated one million naira (N1,000,000.00) only early this year as endowment fund to the University.
The Governing Council noted that you had also facilitated international supports and linkages to the University in recent times. For instance, you recently linked the University with De Paul University, Chicago, United States of America to provide support to the University in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and facilitated the visit by the team from Auburn University and De Paul University to the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, in June, 2019.
The Governing Council in view of the support you have demonstrated for the University, directed that a letter of appreciation should be written to you on behalf of the Council and Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. I therefore write on behalf of the Governing Council and Management of the University to sincerely appreciate you for donating one million naira (N1,000,000.00) only as endowment fund to the University and for also facilitating international supports and linkages to the University.
Your recent donation and support for the University is a reflection of your interest to partner with the University Administration to transform AAUA to a University comparable to the best Universities across the globe.
Once again, you are appreciated for your philanthropic gesture and support to AAUA.
