- says Fabiyi not national officer
By John Dike, Osogbo
The leadership of the South-West zone of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has clarified that Mr. Demeji Fabiyi is not the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the party.
In a statement signed by Ambassador Dr Babatunde Oke, the party said that at the recent Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Abeokuta, Fabiyi had openly acknowledged that he did not occupy that position.
The party said It is therefore surprising that he has continued to present himself to members of the press as the Deputy National Financial Secretary.
The party said, “For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Rotimi George-Taylor remains the duly recognized National Deputy Financial Secretary of the party.
“The South-West leadership under the Chairman, Mr. Owokoniran, commends Mr. Rotimi George-Taylor for his maturity and restraint during the Abeokuta meeting, despite attempts to create unnecessary disruption.
“The party takes issues of misrepresentation seriously and will address this matter formally through the appropriate constitutional channels.
“A member present at the meeting expressed shock at Mr. Fabiyi’s actions and described them as inconsistent with the values of discipline and integrity expected within the party.
“The ADC remains committed to unity, transparency, and respect for its constitutional structure.”
