Accord Slams Wole Oke Over Alleged Desperate Plot to Mislead INEC

The Accord Party in Osun State has slammed Hon. Wole Oke for his call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister as a political party.

In a statement by  Mallam Olawale Rasheed, apokesman to Governor Adewolu Adeleke, the party noted with deep concern and utter disdain the alleged crude, misleading, and intellectually hollow graphic being circulated by the politician.

Categorically and without equivocation, the party said that “this action represents a calculated attempt to set a fraudulent agenda aimed at pressuring INEC into taking an illegal and unconstitutional step.”

According to Accord Party, “The motive is clear: a desperate and failed bid to prevent His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, from contesting the August 8, 2026 governorship election on the platform of Accord.

“This reckless move is yet another public display of frustration by enemies of democracy, with Hon. Wole Oke acting as their visible proxy.

“Having lost political relevance and public credibility, he now seeks attention through propaganda and misinformation rather than service to the people who elected him.

“The insinuation that Accord is liable for deregistration is not only false but betrays a fundamental ignorance of the Electoral Act and constitutional provisions governing political parties in Nigeria.

“Accord remains a fully registered, law-abiding political party with a verifiable history of participation and performance in elections across the federation. No amount of propaganda can alter that legal reality.

“The party has met — and continues to meet — the statutory requirements for registration and operation under Nigerian law. Only those unfamiliar with basic constitutional processes would imagine that a registered political party can be deregistered by social media theatrics.

“While certain individuals choose to distract themselves with manufactured controversies, Accord urges the good people of Osun State to remain calm, focused, and undistracted. The future of Osun cannot and will not be shaped by political noise or desperation.

“Instead of engaging in political mischief, Hon. Wole Oke would do well to concentrate on delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people of Obokun–Oriade Federal Constituency, who entrusted him with a mandate. Governance, not propaganda, is the true measure of political relevance.

“His recent migration to the APC appears to have emboldened him to mistake proximity to federal power for legitimacy, even as his legislative record remains underwhelming to the constituents he represents.
For the avoidance of doubt,

“Accord remains solidly registered, legally grounded, and deeply rooted among the people of Osun State. Any continued attempt to mislead the public or misrepresent the law will be met firmly and decisively, strictly within the ambit of the law.

“We understand the game being played. Attempts to sow confusion after the failure of earlier efforts to factionalise the party have collapsed.

“Unfortunately for the merchants of confusion, the people of Osun State have moved far beyond such antics.

“Accord remains focused.
Osun State remains politically enlightened and ready.

“And no amount of misinformation will alter the will of the people.”
