Accord Party in Osun State has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke over the latest fiscal transparency report released by BudgIT, which ranked the state among the most transparent in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the party’s state chairman, Victor Babalola Akande, the party described the recognition as a strong validation of the Adeleke administration’s commitment to accountability, openness and responsible governance.

According to the BudgIT States Fiscal Transparency League (SFTL) Q4 2025 report, Osun was listed among only nine states across the federation that achieved the highest score in fiscal transparency, placing it among the most accountable subnational governments in the country.

Akande said the recognition reflects deliberate efforts by the state government to ensure that governance in Osun is not only people-centred but also transparent in the management of public resources.

He noted that since assuming office in 2022, Governor Adeleke has consistently demonstrated a leadership style that prioritises openness and public accountability, particularly in the management and reporting of government finances.

“Being ranked among the most fiscally transparent states in Nigeria is not accidental. It reflects the conscious efforts of a government that believes the people deserve to know how public resources are being utilised,” he said.

The Accord chairman explained that the BudgIT assessment considered several indicators, including the timely publication of budget implementation reports, accessible fiscal data repositories and functional procurement portals through which citizens can monitor government contracts.

He added that Osun’s strong performance in these areas shows that the current administration understands the importance of transparency in building trust between the government and the people.

Akande therefore congratulated the governor, members of the State Executive Council, civil servants and other stakeholders whose efforts, he said, have helped strengthen transparency and accountability within the state’s financial system.
