To all things there is a season and time
That we should find nothing against our Lord,
And so is it in every land and clime
That whatever be tallies with His Word.
There’s one great Law that rules in every land,
Demanding that we all must have to reap
The fruits of seeds that we sow with our hand
As well as thoughts we may in secret keep.
The seeds we sow must germinate and grow,
And then bear the fruits only of their kind.
Thus it is that right from the start we know
The sort of fruits that we must surely find.
The Law decrees that though ‘twas but a seed
That we decided to put in the soil,
It must bring forth abundant fruits indeed
That we be compensated for our toil.
The Law also demands that only we
And none else can reap of the seeds we sowed,
For it’s only then that we could be free
From their fruits which weigh us down as a load.
All our thoughts, speeches and deeds are like seed
Which once out of us with time bring their yield,
Which may be of sweet or of bitter breed,
In exact accordance with what we willed.
A second Law is like unto the first:
That similar things must unite as one,
For only thus do they bring forth their best
Since they wither soon in standing alone.
Thus whate’er we sow attracts like-species
Or may itself be attracted by them
So it may return to us with increase
In order to uplift us or condemn.
Thus birds of a feather together flock,
And parents have children who are like them
So that they won’t have to rely on luck
To bring up seeds who with them are the same.
A third Law likewise rules in Creation
To ensure nothing ever goes amiss:
The Law of Spiritual Gravitation –
Which puts all things in their proper places.
It belongs to this third Law the duty
To sink what’s heavy and raise up what’s light
To a region of equal density
So that they may with like-species unite.
These three great Laws stand together as one
To ensure that justice and peace may reign
So that of all creatures there should be none
Who may of any injustice complain.
Let’s then accept life as it comes to us
And in contentment learn to thank our Lord,
For nothing comes our way without a cause
But is brought to us as our just reward.
