Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye Ologbese in China, making a presentation on the readiness of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to diversify the state’s economy, using the blue economy to complement the green economy. Through this, the state will have a Diaspora Smart City. The green economy initiative project in Ondo State will increase the IGR, promote investment potentials through Diaspora engagement activities, create employment opportunities for the state’s teeming youths, and tackle the climate change issue at the same time.
The planned Diaspora Smart City Campaign otherwise tagged the Green Economy initiative of the Ondo State Government is attracting international attention.
The project will give the state’s growing economy the desired boost when it eventually rolls off the ground.
This was contained in a statement by the ministry’s spokesman, Bisi Agboola.
Far away in China, the state’s Commissioner for Regional lntegration and Diaspora Relations, Prince ‘Boye Ologbese, posited that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is ready to use the state’s Blue Economy to promote the Green Economy.
According to the statement, the Commissioner disclosed this during a presentation at the Hubei Vocational College of Bio-Technology in China.
It said that during the presentation, Ologbese unveiled the state government’s position on the project as approved by Governor Orimisan Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The statement said: “The Honourable Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye Ologbese said that the Governor is ready to use the state Blue Economy to promote the Green Economy lnitiative project and thereby increase the Ondo State lnternally Generated Revenue (IGR) through the promotion of investment potentials.
“The project will also create employment opportunities for the teeming youths of the state and tackle the Climate Change issues affecting the entire world as it affects Ondo State.
“To make the Ondo State idea more relevant, the Federal Government delegation to China has just signed a pact with an electrical company in China. This will be beneficial to Ondo, the Sunshine State”
