Govt charges Osun food vendors to improve school feeding

Osun State Government has charged food Vendors, under the aegis of Osun School Feeding Programme, (O’meals) to cooperate with it to improve on the scheme.

The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Hon. Sikiru Bajepade, gave the charge while addressing the 2,470 food vendors under the scheme, during a meeting.

HBajepade said the state government is looking at better measures to improve the scheme so as to ensure its smooth running, which is why N10,000 per cook has been approved by the state government as transportation allowance.

In her address,the Special Adviser to the Governor on Home Grown School Feeding, Hon. Grace Ayodele said it is necessary for the food vendors to take proper care of their hygiene.

Hon. Ayodele further noted that, the Adeleke government is keen on ensuring the growth of women, not only in politics, but across all boards.

In her welcome address, the O’meals State Program Manager, Mrs. Olufunke Adedigba announced that the sum of 100naira approved to feed each pupils is in line with the Federal Government’s directive.

She said the scheme is looking at measures to come to an agreement with the Federal Government so as to increase the feeding fees to meet up with the reality of the present economy.

She further advised the vendors to cooperate with the scheme as Ademola Adeleke led administration will ensure that their interests are protected.
