Lady seeks help for N2.5m surgery to escape confinement to wheel chair

Toyin Omojola is a 29 year old lady eking a living in Akure the Ondo State capital.

After obtaining a B.Ed Biology from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, she ventured into fashion designing rather than going about looking for jobs that are not there .

Toyin threw herself into her job while hoping for a better future until she was diagnosed with avascular necrosis and osteoarthritis.

Avascular necrosis is the death of bone tissue due to lack of blood supply, after a while, the bone can collapse while Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which tissues in the joint break down and worsen overtime resulting in chronic pains.

Doctors recommended surgery as the best course of action most importantly to prevent a situation where she might have to be confined to a wheelchair if not promptly attended to.

The said surgery is to cost #2.5 million naira and must as a matter of medical urgency be performed latest January, 2024 to prevent unpleasant situation of her having not to walk again by herself.

The single lady while sharing her ordeals with Radio Nigeria appealed to kind hearted Nigerians to save her legs.

She said ” I am still young , I need my legs to hustle, I am scared. I don’t want to loose them Nigerians should please help me.

“What I make from what I do is just to keep body and soul together.

“The time given me by doctors is so short that saving on my own to realise money for the surgery may not be achievable ”

”I am sending out this SOS appeal I know many Nigerians are compassionate.

“I will take any amount anyone willing gives me and gather up for the surgery so that this disease will not cheat me of my legs, ” Toyin pleaded.
