Atiku defeats Buhari in Aso Rock

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday defeated President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progresives Congress (APC) in the total votes cast in the presidential election inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The two presidential candidates however won one each of the two polling units located in the presidential villa.

Atiku won in Polling Unit 022 with 525 votes against 465 votes scored by President Buhari.

President Buhari won in  Polling Unit 021 with 548 votes against Atiku’s 505 votes.

In the overall votes cast for the presidential election, President Buhari of the APC pulled 1,013 votes while Alhaji Atiku of the PDP scored 1,030 votes.

For the senatorial election, the PDP won at Polling Unit 021 with 535 votes against the 531 votes scored by the APC candidate.

In Polling Unit 022, PDP also won with 546 votes while APC polled 477 votes.

The results showed that in all for the senatorial election, PDP won with 1,081 votes while APC scored 1,008 votes.

For the House of Representatives’ election, PDP defeated APC in Unit 021 with 525 votes against APC’s 531 votes.

In Unit 022, PDP again won with 521 votes against APC’s 466 votes.

In all, the PDP won the House of Representatives election with a total votes of 1,046 against 995 votes scored by APC.

Counting and collation of result dragged into the night compelling construction giant Julius Bergerto put in an emergency flood light.

Voters were seen waited patiently to join INEC officials in the counting of the votes.
