The Poet's Corner

Hush thou and keep still, oh my soul,

And let that Power take control,

Which the Lord pours down every year

To wash away your wear and tear.

Be filled, my soul, with peace supreme

As show’rs of blessing through you stream,

Which this day come down from Above

As a gift from the Holy Dove.

Rejoice, my soul, with grateful heart

That of today’s Act you are a part,

When Creation itself opens up

To receive from the Holy Cup.

Be content, my soul, with your share

Because for you the Lord does care,

But keep not to yourself alone

The blessings which this day you’ve known.
