Reflection for the day

Not too many rich people care a hoot to treat the poor and the less privileged around them well.

Or what do you think is responsible for a rich man, whose wealth runs into millions of naira, refusing to timely pay his Gateman or Gardener the paltry salary of #15,000 or whatever pittance he pays per month?

Several rich people will never pay their workers on time. A lot of them engage in the habit of owing their staff one month salary ahead, i.e, they will only pay December salary by the end of January. Never will they pay as at when due, not to talk of incentive allowances or motivational payments to such deserving workers.

Look at another scenario : Several rich people will prevent their House Cleaners from taking one or two tubers of yam from the stock of their food that will go bad if not timely eaten. If some rich people should open their food store to you, you will see far more spoilt raw food than anyone could imagine. The question is, why is raw food going bad when people who could have them for use are around you?

The more mindful the rich are about the poor people around them, the better the larger society will become. Or what do you think is behind the steal-blind mentality of our leaders while nothing is being given back to the very society where the “milk and honey” is coming from?

A man who bluntly refuses to come to the aid of the needy people around him, is only setting up himself for denials from God.

For your information, the Almighty has special interest in situations pertaining to the needy. Indeed, He has special consideration for the rich that treats the poor or less privileged with considerations.

A rich man who treats the poor badly should always remember 2 things :

(1) He, the rich man or the parents of the rich man were once poor.

(2) The tide of life can turn : turn for the rich, it can also turn for the poor.

If you don’t believe me, remember that a former Head of State in Nigeria had once become a prisoner before : downright poor prisoner holed up in one terribly hot town in North East of Nigeria. In the same token, a prisoner had once risen up to become the President of this nation in the past.

So, be careful, the tide of life do turn.
