Ondo PDP celebrates Mimiko at 68

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, is felicitating with the immediate past governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, who turns 68 today, October 3.

In a statement on Monday by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, the party described the former governor as one of the few men whose achievements will live after them after their earthly existence.

According to the statement, which was titled: “Ondo PDP celebrates Dr. Olusegun Mimiko @ 68+:”  “There are men who walk the surface of the earth the way a snake passes through the surface of a stone; while there are others who leave a mark on their trail wherever they pass.

“Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is one of such few men whose achievements will live even after their sojourn on earth.

“As two term Governor of Ondo State, Mimiko’s strides in urban renewal, education and health sector were world acclaimed.

“Our party joins millions of friends and well-wishers across the globe, to wish him a very happy birthday and God’s guidance on this special occasion.”

Born Olusegun Rahman Mimiko on October 3, 1954, he served as the 16th, fifth civilian, and the first two-term democratically elected Governor of Ondo State, between February 2009 and February 2017, when he handed over to the incumbent Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
