The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Oyeyemi Adesoye Oyediran has assured adequate security in the state before, during and after the Eid Kabir celebration.
For this, he has ordered that adequate security be provided at all praying centres to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
He also enjoined the celebrants to carry out all their activities within the ambit of the law .
According to a statement by the police spokeswoman in the state, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, the commissioner on behalf of officers and men of the command,” rejoices with all our Muslim brothers and sisters on this special occasion of Eid-Kabir.
It said: “The CP has ordered that adequate security be provided at all praying centres to ensure a hitchfree celebration and also enjoined the celebrants to carryout all their activities within the ambit of the law .
“Parents and guardians are advised to monitor their wards and children at the praying ground to avert cases of missing child/ren, incident or any untoward issue.
“He however warned that miscreants who may want to seize the opportunity of the festival to commit any dastardly act will not only be met with stiff restrictions but be dealt with accordingly.
“While wishing our brothers in Islam a happy celebration, we urge everyone to be security conscious this season .
