Osinbajo, Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu
Presidential aspirants from the South West on the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, including the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; the party’s National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu; and Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and the party’s other governors from the region are currently in a crucial stakeholders’ meeting at Lagos House, Marina.
Also in attendance are Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is the host; his Ondo, Ogun, and Osun states counterparts Rotimi Akeredolu, Dapo Abiodun, and Gboyega Oyetola respectively; Interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola; Works and Housing minister, Babatunde Fashola; former Ekiti State governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; and the party’s national secretary, Dr Iyiola Omisore.
There were also former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, who were the conveners.
The meeting, being held behind closed doors, was still ongoing at 7.30pm
Aregbesola had arrived in Osinbanjo’s convoy at about 6.45 pm and was ushered into the main hall.
A source said the meeting is centred around arriving at a mutual consensus of candidates among the various presidential aspirants from the South West region of the country in the forthcoming APC primaries.
