A leading Ondo South Senatorial District aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections, Mr Mathew Oye Oyerinmade, has sent message of hope, trust and total commitment to the teachings and lessons of the Quran after the Ramadan fasting.
In a statement by his spokesman, Mr Yemi Akintomide, he urged the Islamic faithful in the state, particularly those in the six local government areas of Odigbo, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Okitipupa, Irele and Ileoluji/Okeigbo constituting the District to “expect huge rewards and bountiful blessings of the Almighty Allah (SWT) after faithfully observed the 30 days’ fasting and diligently followed the teachings and directives of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) during the holy month.”
According to the statement, Oyerinmade, popularly called MATO, “noted that the holy month of Ramadan usual comes with lots of prayers, worship, teachings, denial of food and worldly things, lectures from the Holy Quran, accompanied with kindness, abundant blessing, genuine love and holiness in serving the Almighty Allah (SWT).”
His words: “May the Almighty Allah keep us away from heedlessness and forgive all our sins after Ramadan so that we can continue to live without sin; and in love, peace, harmony and unity, and be our brothers’ keepers.
“As Nigerians, we pray that the Almighty Allah (SWT) accept our ibadat and use our fasting, prayers and worship during the holy month to have mercy upon our Nation, give us peace and tranquility as a people and put an end to the spate of killing, kidnapping, terrorism, abduction, robbery, poverty, wants and other vices mitigating against the speedy development of our country, Nigeria. Inshallah.
“I pray, as we’re going into yet another election period, may the Almighty Allah (SWT) grant us peaceful exercise, free and credible elections, devoid of rancour, violence, thuggery and bloody clashes, and as individuals, grant all our secret prayers with sound health to celebrate more Eid el-Fitr and participate in more elections during our lifetime.
“I wish to use this unique and special period of Eid el-Fitr celebration to once again, reach out to all our esteemed delegates from the Southern Senatorial District to remember my strong commitment to purposeful representation of our people in the Upper Chambers of the National Assembly come the 2023 elections, to vote for me massively during this month’s APC primary election so as to emerge as the candidate of our darling party.
“I also wish all our Muslim clerics, Alfas, Imams, scholars, friends, brothers and sisters, happy celebrations and many more opportunities to witness such special day like today, in God’s love, sound health, joyful moments and service to Ondo State, Nigeria and humanity in general.
