Four APC House of Reps members dump party

Four members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives, who failed to win renomination to contest in 2019, have announced their defection from the party.
The House of Representatives speaker, Yakubu Dogara announced the defections on the floor of the House in Abuja on Tuesday.

In separate letters, the lawmakers commended the APC for providing the platform for them to serve and stated that it was time for them to move on to further their political careers somewhere else.

With the 2019 elections months away, Hon. Dada Awoleye, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, defected to Accord Party while Hon. Segun William representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, defected to Labour Party.

Also, the representative of the Anka/Mafara Federal Constituency, Zamfara, Hassan Lawali, defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) while Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, representing Ibadan North-East/South- East Federal Constituency defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to reports, the announcement of the defections sparked a light celebration among lawmakers in the green chamber of the National Assembly.
