Fedpoly, Ile Oluji creates new schools, appointments

The Academic Board of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Ondo State, Fedpolel, has created three new schools from its existing 12 academic programmes in a bid to build a sustainable academic content for the realisation of its vision statement.

A statement today by the institution’s Head, Information, Protocol and Passages, Mr Sanmi Enigbokan, said that the decision was taken at a special meeting of the Academic Board held on Monday, 8th June, 2020 at the Academic Chamber of the Polytechnic, where new appointments for the headship of the Schools and Departments were approved.

The Schools are: Business and Management Technology; Industrial and Applied Sciences and Engineering Technology.

Each school is to be supervised by an acting Dean with the support of the newly appointed Heads of Departments and Programme Coordinators.

The appointees, who would be in the saddle for one year in the first instance, are:

  • Mr. Solomon Akindutire – Acting Dean, School of Business Management and Technology;
  • Mr. Samson Omogbehin – Acting Dean, School of Industrial and Applied Sciences;
  • Mr. Olanrewaju Johnson – Coordinating Head, School of Engineering Technology;
  • Mr. Justus Ademuyiwa – Coordinating Head, Directorate of Academic Planning;
  • Dr. Toyese Dahunsi – Ag. Head of Department, General Studies;
  • Mr. Ademola Adewumi – Ag. Head of Department, Accountancy;
  • Engr. (Dr) Benjamin Adegoke – Ag. Head of Department, Computer Engineering;
  • Engr. Ademola Adetunmbi – Ag. Head of Department, Electrical/Electronics Engineering;
  • Mr. Idowu Longe – Ag. Head of Department, Statistics;
  • Mr. Mutiu Ganiyu – Ag. Head of Department, Computer Science;
  • Mr. Ilesanmi Omole – Coordinator, Business Administration;
  • Mr. Sunday Adebisi – Coordinator, Cooperative Economics and Management;
  • Engr. Jide Ipindola – Coordinator, Civil Engineering;
  • Arc. Kayode Fagbemi – Coordinator, Architectural Technology;
  • Dr. Ademola Agbona – Coordinator, Agricultural Technology;
  • Mr. Samuel Olanipekun – Coordinator, Fisheries Technology; and
  • Mr. Maruf Yekeen – Coordinator, Science Laboratory Technology.

The statement said: “While congratulating the new appointees, the Rector of the Polytechnic encouraged them to be team builders in providing quality leadership in their respective schools and departments. He urged them to discharge their new responsibilities with vigour, commitment and dedication while upholding the highest standards of academic excellence in the Institution.”

It said that “the Rector also seized the opportunity to introduce the newly appointed Principal Officers of the Polytechnic to members of the Academic Board. He charged the Board to cooperate with the new Principal Officers in order for them to record resounding successes in their respective portfolios.”

The new Principal Officers who have since assumed duties with effect from 1st April, 2020 are:                

  • Mr. Ademola Bobola, Registrar;
  • Mrs. Olufunke Ogunbodede, Bursar; and
  • Dr. Jerome Idiegbayan – Ose, Polytechnic Librarian.
