Let me say upfront that there is a correlation between security and peace, in the context as we shall explore in this essay. In other words, how to attain security on earth could equally read ‘how to attain peace on earth.’
Security does not simply mean absence of wars, diseases, violence, thieves, acts of terror, kidnappers, etc. Security has much deeper connotation. The topic even becomes more appropriate now that we are all holed up in our homes, or going out with certain trepidation about the ravaging covid-19. The devastating effects of the virus heighten the need for security on earth.
But I hope we have all noticed something. First, hopefully we have all come to the realization that man is helpless before the corona virus; which is a tiny invisible enemy; no respecter of anyone! The high and mighty nations and personalities of the world have all become equally vulnerable. The world economic powers, which were always regarded as super powers and developed worlds, are all on their knees. They are either praying or humiliated; but on their knees. Africa is not spared, either.
The World Health Organization, WHO, rightly or wrongly (I hope wrongly) even predicts the worst to occur in Africa. But clearly we all are in the same boat of unique world experiencing, and have no immediate solution to this just one virus. It was laughable when I read that the feuding opposition rebel fighters in Libya declared ‘ceasefire’ because of corona virus menace. So, the virus presented a more devious situation for even feuding parties!
Did you also notice that the hitherto assumed tight security and privileges which the high and mighty offices of presidents of the world hitherto seemed to give suddenly became illusory, and not real at all. The discerning man would then realize that, indeed, there is no security on earth, as such. So, he or she must seek for security differently.
Then we are prescribing ‘hand sanitization’, ‘social distancing’ and separation from crowds, friends and families. These prescriptions speak to us of key spiritual lessons in life (we will dwell on this later).
Also, you would have the sense that somehow the EARTH is trying to reclaim her space and flush out these humanity that has brought so much filth upon the earth-plane. The most devastating virus is the hate-filled thoughts of human beings. Hopefully, this discuss will address all these aspects in a moment. So, ladies and gentlemen, it is that voyage we intend to do together with this address. Once again, thank you for the opportunity.
Let me also clarify that I am not a security expert, and do not intend to speak about normal security matters, as we usually refer to them. Rather I wish to speak to you all about the natural security which comes when man or woman exists in a state of inner harmony with Nature or Creation. This state of being at peace with the environment, and with the forces of Nature, is the real security we all must pursue.
So, as an operational definition, security means and refers to a state of being totally at peace, harmony, union with the Earth, indeed with Creation. This security would always be elusive for as long as we human beings spread bad thoughts and volitions, such as hatred and envy on earth. True peace is the security which an individual possesses within irrespective of whether the whole earth is in turmoil. Indeed, the security we shall discuss here creates the outward atmosphere for peace, up-building developments and progress to occur. Without this security nothing of an enduring nature can happen in an environment.
It is laughable when regions of the country, Nigeria, think that the solution to insecurity is simply by creating regional security outfits, of whatever name so called. We always forget that in every earthly crisis, what has to change is man (woman) himself, and not the system, outfit, structure, etc. Whatever structure you come up with, and whatever names it may be called, must be administered by human beings. It is the orientation of these human beings that must be changed, first.
For as long as the Yoruba man thinks that he is better than the Hausa man, and the Hausa man thinks that he must lord it over the Igbo man, and all the three major ethnic nationalities of Nigeria carry on as if they wholly represent the entity called Nigeria, for so long shall peace and security be absent from this land. So, for security to reign on earth, man must inwardly change.
We need to upgrade our knowledge to the fact that the Earth is a ‘living thing’. Picture it as a mighty ‘BEING’ which is animated by The Almighty Creator, through His Living Volition or Power. Everything that emerges or emerged from the Creative Divine Power of The Almighty remains perpetually alive, in motion, and yearns to strive towards growth and development, in noble and sublime conditions.
The easily most discernible quality of The Almighty we can perceive is ‘PURITY’. We can also perceive PERFECTION and LOVE. This Divine Volition of The Almighty manifests visibly on earth in the form of Laws; we call them Divine Laws, also Spiritual Laws and Natural Laws. Eventually, for those who know more about them, they are called the manifestations of ‘The Will of The Almighty’.
There is order, perfection, love and lawfulness or logical manifestation in these Laws. Nothing arbitrary can occur in their activities. It is actually these Laws that govern affairs on earth, not human beings. Human beings are meant to completely submit to the activities of these Laws in order to know peace and security on earth. Failure to obey these Natural Laws automatically brings about the so called insecurity on earth. It also brings about all the chaos, diseases, corruption, imbalances and acts of madness we see today on earth.
Every manifestation of ‘insecurity’ on earth, therefore, has its origin in the distortion of this spiritual order in the Natural Laws by man. You can name them: insecurity, terrorism, kidnapping, corruption, stealing, hatred, fear, diseases etc.
Do you know that one of the first manifestations of insecurity by man/woman is FEAR? The fearful person is usually a very insecure person. He/she would also be a distrustful person, and may not even trust self. Anyone who does not trust self is unstable both in character and relationships. The person eventually becomes unreliable. However, because the tendency is always to ‘see the faults we carry within us show more in other people’, he/she would then declare that ‘human beings are unreliable’. But in reality it is the person who is unreliable.
Why would an individual be unreliable and insecure? It is because they lack knowledge of the Laws of Creation. You know it is said that ‘knowledge is power’. The knowledge which brings power is actually knowledge of the Spiritual Laws. It also brings heroic confidence and imperturbability. It is the best inner state of security for every human being.
May be I should quickly, at this point remind us all of the Natural or Spiritual Laws, starting with the Law that stipulates that ‘Like attracts like! I purposely used the term ‘remind’ because the Natural Laws have always been there. This Law is also referred to as the Law of ‘Attraction of Similar Species’; or the ‘Law of Homogeneity’. This Spiritual Law helps us to understand how we attract to ourselves things which are similar to our inner nature. We say, for example, ‘like father, like son’; ‘birds of the same feather flock together’, etc. This Spiritual Law, like all others, operates in perfection. So, the inwardly fearful person would attract all manners of the manifestations of thoughts of fear to himself/herself.
This insecure state of fear may then manifest in, may be, dispossessing others of their belongings, becoming autocratic and wicked towards others, becoming nepotistic, killing an opponent, subtly taking over positions of authority in offices and organizations, demanding obedience from others instead of mutually showing respect to one another, etc. When you have a chance to interrogate any criminal minded person you would always come out realizing that they are the greatest cowards. Often, it is the inner fear which becomes like a monster and begins to haunt them.
Each one of us is like a magnet, and we attract to ourselves the thoughts and emotions we cherish in our thoughts and hearts. So, ladies and gentlemen, insecurity is firstly an inner state in man/woman; and therefore the solution to its elimination must first be addressed from the inner recesses of the soul of man/woman.
How?
How can we attain security on Earth? The first true effort should be in understanding the Earth. That means also understanding the Laws operational on Earth. Let us address this by reminding ourselves of the second Law of Nature. This Law is referred to as the ‘Law of Reciprocal Action’, that is, the Law of Sowing and Reaping.
The secure person is the one who lives life in the understanding that whatever he/she does to others eventually comes back to him/her, without fail. Please pause a little and reflect upon this! Imagine that we are all aware that what we ‘sow, same shall we reap’; and that we know this as a reality of life, and not just as memorized verse. Certainly there would be more peace and security on earth. If the Boko Haram activists or the kidnappers on our roads know that the pains, losses, agony and violence meted out to their victims MUST come back to them, they would certainly cease their evil deeds and turn away from such ugly acts.
But as many of you know, ignorance is bliss. Many revel under ignorance, but it would not waive the repercussions of the Laws of Nature from hitting us. This is because the Divine Law holds the truth that ‘what we do to another, we do in reality to ourselves; for according to the Eternal Laws of Creation, everything we do (give out) returns to us, good or evil.’ Imagine the inner certainty of peace and security which can arise within us if we believe and accept this Law as living reality! And, indeed, it is a living reality.
There is even an additional aspect to the Law. You discover this from your observation of natural plants. The size of yam you plant during planting season is usually not the same size you harvest. The harvest is usually bigger. So, there is a multiplication effect that happens to the spiritual seeds we sow also. So, what we sow, we shall all reap and in multiples. This should not scare anyone. Rather it should be a spur to inwardly resolve to sow only such spiritual seeds such as peace, love, consideration for the other person, happiness, etc.
In The Grail Message, the following words are written: “…The Law of Reciprocal Action. The effect of this Law is that man must reap what he has once sown, unconditionally. He cannot reap wheat where he sowed rye, nor clover where he sowed thistles. In the Ethereal World it is exactly the same. In the end he will not be able to reap kindness where he felt hatred, nor joy where he nourished envy!”
So, our Earth, as a living being, also observes the Law. All of us human beings, on Earth, are like guests in the household of the Earth. The Earth has provided us a ‘home’, and as guests in the home, we ought to take care of the home. Taking care includes maintaining peace, relating with one another in love, delicate consideration and trust. We must realize that humanity is one under One Creator. That what happens at one corner of the Earth affects the whole of the Earth; even with our thoughts. That uniform spiritual laws uphold and influence all activities on Earth. I am sure the effects of COVID -19 clearly show the interconnectedness of mankind.
It is ordinarily easy to obey these Laws, but due to habit and cultural behaviors spanning over years, we must further dwell on how to make it easy for us to comply and enhance our state of security on Earth.
The first thing is to shun all dispositions towards dogmatism, fanaticism, and blind followership. This is a way of saying that we should acquire the disposition of personal responsibility, humility, accepting that we do not know it all; and as such be open to new knowledge.
We are all on Earth from a spiritual home that is outside this material Earth. It is also to that spiritual home we must return after earthly sojourn. As such, spiritual considerations must be a constant feature of our lives. Every thought, word and action of man/woman contains living powers and forms, and become seeds sown into the soil of Material Creation, which brings forth harvests that must be similar to the original seed sown. So, the secure and inwardly happy person is that one who consciously sows seeds that would bring about such secure and peaceful state.
How do we proceed? The right frame of mind for each of us would be attained by simply observing the ‘LAW OF BALANCE’ in all our relationships. This Law, which is related to the Law of Reciprocity, enjoins upon all of us to observe a balance between our ‘giving and our taking’. Every relationship is about ‘giving’ and ‘taking’. We are to ensure that our ‘taking’ does not create an imbalance. Often, most people focus on ‘taking’ in their relationships, and soon that breeds discontent, distrust, anger, conflicts, and eventually even wars.
Reflect that you would never find two persons in a quarrel where the substance of the quarrel would be ‘giving’; rather all quarrels arise from ‘taking’. Nations want to take control of their neighbours’ resources, friends want to take the resources of their friends. Relationships break because we do not give into it as much as we take away from it. It is the taking and taking mentality that breeds insecurity.
In The Grail Message, the author, Abd-ru-shin, states a practical approach to achieving balance in our relationships. He writes: “…The Law of Almighty God for you is: You are permitted to wander through Creation! Go in such a manner as to cause no harm to others in pursuit of your personal desires! Otherwise threads will be woven into the carpet of your paths which will hold you down and prevent you from ascending to the Luminous Heights of conscious and joyful activity in the gardens of all the Realms of your God!”
The Lord Jesus Christ, before now, had also instituted the same principle when He said: ‘Love thy neighbour as thyself’.
Referring to Christ’s Words, Abd-ru-shin, in The Grail Message states the following: “…With these Words He gave the key to freedom and ascent! Because it is an irrefutable fact: What you do for your neighbour you do in reality only for yourselves! Solely for yourselves, since according to the Eternal Laws everything returns to you without fail, good or evil, either already here or there. It will surely come! …You should give to your neighbour with your being, your nature! Not necessarily with money and goods. For then, those without means would be excluded from the possibility of giving. ..”
I want us to notice something about the two admonitions. Each emphasizes ‘giving’ not ‘taking’. The more we can give of that which is noble, loving, harmonious to our fellow human beings, the more SECURE we would be. The reason is that every action brings back spiritual harvests. Noble deeds create an invisible cloak or aura around us which prevents ignoble occurrences to come towards us, following the Law of Attraction of Similar Species, which we already referred to above.
Therefore, to feel secure on earth, we must reverse our priorities and focus them on maintaining balance in our relationships, and expressing love to one another. That is what is meant when Abd-ru-shin states: “…No longer cause any harm to your fellow-men in order to fulfill your personal desires thereby!” The observance of this simple admonition is the secret key or password to SECURITY. It does not matter whether it pertains to an individual, community, town, State or even a Nation.
In addition, and most importantly, so that our longing and aspirations on earth may point us towards our spiritual Home called Paradise, we must also cultivate the yearning, desire and longing for the luminous Realm of God Almighty. The Grail Message admonishes as follows: “…Therefore think upon God and His Will at all times. But do not make a picture of it for yourselves! It would certainly prove wrong because the human spirit cannot grasp the conception of God. Therefore it is given to him to grasp the Will of God, for which he must seek honestly and in humility. If he has found the Will he will then recognise God therein.”
A prayerful disposition which translates to carrying out every duty or task towards others as if it is a form of prayer to The Creator, in joyful acceptance of Life and gratitude to The Most High would condition our minds to uphold purity of volition always.
In conclusion, ladies and gentlemen, let me touch upon the phrases “hand sanitization”, maintaining “social distance”, and “avoiding crowded gatherings”, which are taken from the prescribed precautionary measures we must now take towards staying free from coronavirus.
Like I hinted already, the ‘virus’ is symptomatic of the decay and ugliness of present day humanity. It is the inner ugliness, evil and wickedness of men and women that brought upon us various viruses, diseases and what we generally call insecurity. You may agree or disagree; it really does not matter. What matters is that we are all in it together, and everyone wishes to be freed from the ravaging virus. To remain permanently free, we may consider now applying the following:
In addition to hand sanitization, let us also apply thought sanitization. Let our thoughts be filled always with the volition for what is good towards our fellow human beings and towards the living Earth. Let these be thoughts of love, consideration and helping support. Let the day vanish when we would ever think of how to pull others down, or apply unfair measures towards others. Realize that your fellow man is a spiritual creature, and whatever you do to him or her reverberates in same spiritual energy which you carry, and take on living forms in Creation. The consequential harvests bring us peace or insecurity.
When it comes to maintaining ‘social distance’ and avoiding crowded gatherings’, let us begin to see such phrases as reminders to us that ‘at the end of the day, each one must bear personal spiritual responsibility for his/her thoughts, words and deeds. There would be no crowd or group responsibility. Creation Laws judge us as individuals, according to our deeds. The father will not be answerable for the deeds of the children; nor the uncle be answerable for the actions of the nieces.
Also, we should be careful with whom we associate. Not everyone must be a friend, but we must not treat anyone with hatred. Our association should be intuitively guided, so that we do not just crowd our personal space with all manners of human beings. If we ‘listen’ inwardly when meeting any stranger, our intuition would always guide us as to the level of relationship to maintain with the person. It is not listening to this intuition that causes sense of insecurity and hurt along the way.
Also, a distancing from others helps us to even understand oneself better. Take a moment to ask salient questions about one’s purpose on earth. Take a moment to discover or rediscover yourself, in the abilities, aspirations and goals you cherish. Often, the hassles and bustles of each day prevent one from taking this act of introspection. It strengthens inner security when you know who you truly are!
Thank you all for your patience with me. What I have shared are my personal recognitions as at today. You are to verify them in your spirit. The Source from which I have drawn, The Grail Message, is available and open to all.
The bottom line is that we should all long for and aspire towards true humanity, and proper recognition of The Almighty and His Creation. This can only happen when we go back to the realization that we are guests here on Earth, and that the household which is the Earth has spiritual rules and regulations which we must obey to remain secure.
Stay blessed.
