Ondo State Local Government Staff Training School, Itaogbolu has started running programme leading to the award of the Higher National Diploma, HND,
It is running the programme in conjunction with Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, RUGIPO, through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the state owned institution early this year.
These were disclosed by the School’s Training Director of Studies, Mr Solomon Ariyeloye at Igbara-oke, headquaters of Ifedore Local Government, where he concluded the three weeks sensitisation tour of the 18 Local Governments in the state.
He added that with the understanding between the Staff Training School and RUGIPO, the OND graduates of the Training School will only proceeded to RUGIPO to spend nine months to be awarded HND.
Programmes being run in the school now include Improve Course, Advance Certificate Course, Diploma Course and Higher Diploma course.
He charged staff members on the need to enroll in the Training School in order to improve themselves academically for a better future career.
He said: ”It’s pertinent to inform the workers about the transformation going on in the Staff Training School, the school is now a departure from the past.”
Ariyeloye said that the certificate offered before only limits them to promotion in the local government service alone.
Highlight of the sensitisation tour was the courtesy visit to the palace of Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede.
