A statement by the polytechnic’s spokesman, Mr Sanmi Enigbokan, said the Northern Youth Forum (NYF), presented the award to Ebeloku at a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday
Also, the Rector was decorated with a Medal of Honour as Garkuwan Matasan Arewa, meaning Vanguard of Good Leadership and Epitome of Hope.
Simultaneously, he was also inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Northern Youth Organisation at the occasion.
Speaking during the presentation, the President of the NYF, Dr. Isah Ododo, said Dr. Ebeloku was considered worthy of the honours because of his integrity, selfless service, commitment to unity and visionary leadership. He noted that these virtues reflected the ideals exemplified by the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, during his lifetime.
In his acceptance speech, Ebeloku expressed delight at receiving the triple recognition, describing it as both a great honour and a responsibility that would inspire him to greater service.
“I accept this honour not as a personal achievement, but as a challenge to remain an epitome of hope and a true vanguard of good leadership for our teeming Nigerian youths,” he said.
The Rector observed that the modest efforts of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, towards entrenching good governance, promoting youth development, advancing academic excellence and fostering national unity were receiving recognition beyond the Institution.
He assured the Northern youth that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him, pledging to remain committed to the ideals of integrity, responsible leadership and service to humanity.
Dr. Ebeloku dedicated the honours to Almighty God and acknowledged the support and guidance of the Honourable Minister of Education and the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). He also appreciated the Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, for their invaluable support, as well as his family for their prayers and encouragement.
