A notorious bandit leader, identified as Kachalla Dogo Baldu, has reportedly been killed during a violent clash between rival armed groups in Zamfara State.

Dogo Baldu was allegedly killed by fighters loyal to a rival bandit leader, Aleru, during fierce fighting in the eastern part of Mada, according to reports.

Counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X, stating that the confrontation had also claimed the lives of several fighters loyal to Dogo Baldu.

Makama said information from the area indicated that the fighting was still ongoing, raising fears that the death toll could increase as the rival groups continued their confrontation.

He attributed the violence to the persistent rivalry among armed criminal groups operating in parts of Zamfara State, where competing factions have engaged in deadly clashes over territorial control and influence.

The confrontation highlights the continuing divisions among armed groups operating in the state, where rival factions have frequently resorted to violence in their struggle for dominance.

However, the exact number of casualties, including the total number of fighters killed during the clash, had yet to be established as of the time of filing this report.
