The policy on Digital National Education Management information system known as “DNEMIS” is now to be strictly implemented in Ondo State.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ondo State, Professor lgbekele Ajibefun gave the charge to his officers while receiving briefs on the non- compliance to the policy by some private schools.
Professor Ajibefun remarked that the policy known as “DNEMIS’ is unique and important in bringing together schools, Local Government Areas, State and the Federal with a data on education to support better planning and strenghten accountability for a brighter future.
To ensure full implementation of the policy, a consultant will work in synergy with all the Zonal Education officers in Ondo – State with a view to ensuring a result oriented pursuit on the exercise.
This directive for immediate implementation started today with the Zonal Education office in Akure South where Mr. Akinbuwa Oloyede Kunle and his team swung into action and ordered the closure of some schools until such schools complied fully with tbe policy.
Whilst monitoring the exercise, it was observed that most private schools in Ondo- State are yet to comply with the policy.
These schools are hiding under a flimsy excuse of not having any information on the policy when actually they have no alliance with their associations or even contact their Area Education Officers on cognate information on the affairs and development of their schools.
For the information of the general public and in particular Propietors/ Head of schools in Ondo State, private and public, are by this notice being informed that the Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is all out to ensure strict compliance with the policy and that any School that defys the order will be closed down.
This centralised digital platform for our education system will not be compromised under any guise.
